Rennack's father is a celestial prince, specifically the Prince of Frost. The latter is an arch-fey in the lore and, in Ren's story, they are effective demi-god level. The Prince is drawn into a plot by Zarda, Ren's mot her, an alu-fiend, herself the daughter of a demon Prince and a powerful witch. This leads to the birth of Rennack. However, Zarda is soon defeated by a band of adventurers and Rennack is rescued. He is brought up by the elf and tiefling members of the party as their own, hiding him away from his father. This is successful until young adulthood, when his powers really luck in and his father begins to look for his hair in earnest!
